11 and a half weeks…

16 October 2009 No Comment

In my last update I mentioned Rob who was doing the Great North Run and I’d like to begin this update by saying congratulations to him. He completed it in around 1 hour 50 minutes raising over £1000 for charity.

It’s been a bit eventful the last few days – I have been put at risk of redundancy at work. This can be tough to deal with at the best of times but when you have a baby on the way it only adds to the panic – or does it? I thought it would but to be honest it has had the opposite effect.
Thinking about the future – I thought about my wife, my son and the baby we are awaiting the arrival of and it put things into perspective. Whether I am in work or out of work they are what matter. Granted I have a responsibility to them, to put food on the table and put a roof over their heads but I would do whatever it takes to make that happen. Hopefully the situation will sort itself out quickly and with a positive outcome.

On the pregnancy front the dating scan is only just around the corner now and I’m excited by that. The end of the first trimester is a real milestone in pregnancy and it is fast approaching. I’ve booked the afternoon off work to attend the scan as it is a good opportunity for a dad-to-be to get involved. I may even take my wife out for dinner afterwards but that’s dependant on the morning sickness.
