When I was younger my aim was to do well at school, go to university and get myself a good job. I don’t think I ever really dreamed of living a rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle or becoming a footballer. Instead I once had ambitions to be a dentist – once I came to my senses, or not as some of you may think, I decided I wanted to be an accountant. So as I stand today I can look back and say mission accomplished but was it the right mission? …

It seems a long time ago that Alfie started to crawl as I now watch him running around as he plays. The process of getting onto his hands and knees looking like he’s ready to go when all of a sudden he collapsed to the ground like a falling house of cards. It’s now Charlies turn to learn. He is doing fairly well though. He gets on to his knees, straightens his arms, lets out a little dribble and shoots himself forward. The fact he goes forward is pretty good …

We’re in October and already the whole world seems to be gearing up for Christmas. The local supermarket is stocking large tins of Biscuits and chocolates in festive packaging, the shelled nuts are in stock, Mince Pies are lining the shelves and I’ve already had about five Christmas 2010 catalogues through my mailbox. Now don’t misunderstand me, I love Christmas but why does it start earlier each year. By the middle of November all the shopping centres will have the trees/decorations, as will my sister as a matter of fact, …

According to reports the cold weather in January of this year resulted in many couple finding alternative ways of keeping warm – the result being 12 week scans for March totalling well above the usual monthly average. Consequently September is expected to be a very busy month in the maternity wards across the UK.
Kicking it all off at the end of August is Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha, whose baby girl was born early on Tuesday 24th August and delivered by Caesarean section at the Royal …

Alfie is now two years old and Charlie has just passed the 3 month milestone. As such we are moving Alfie into the bigger bedroom with a view to Charlie taking the nursery in the weeks to come. Alfies first night in his new room was more stressful for me and his mum that it was for him. We were worried that he’d be out of bed, a lovely little Thomas the tank bed it is, running around his room. As it turned out, apart from taking 10 minutes longer …

Every four years, assuming we’ve qualified so forget 1994, the country goes crazy. England flags are all over the place, car windows, draped across house frontages and I’ve even seen someone’s house painted in the style of St. George this year.
Well what a let down Englands opening game against the USA was. ITV let us down big time as the goal was missed by the thousands viewing on ITV HD. Only then when we came to terms with that did we have the blunder by Green to contend with. I …

Alfie loves his little brother. Everyday Alfie leans over the Cot to see Charlie and he greets him with “Hello Baba”. It’s cute to say the least.
The signs are good. When we found out we were going to have two little boys we hoped that they would grow up together as not only brothers but also best friends. Obviously it’s early days but there is certainly a bond between them.
Charlie is nearly two months old now and has grown considerably in such a short space of time. He is …

I can’t believe I haven’t updated this blog for 2 months. The days are zipping past and Father Time is showing no remorse as the days get busier and busier.
So what’s been going on? March was a busy month, we were getting together all the last minute things in anticipation of our new arrival. They wouldn’t have been last minute but for my lack of organisation, like I say it’s been a busy time. April was the month of change. Charlie was born in the early hours of 17th April …

So here we are in the first week of March already. It only seems like 5 minutes since I was eating my Christmas dinner. Every year I seem to be saying that time flies by and I’m reliably informed by my dad that as I get older this problem will only get worse. Strange really because as you get older everything else slows down. Your body slows down, your life style slows down and the thing you want to slow down, speeds up.
Alfie is doing well following the diabetes trauma …

In the last couple of weeks Alfie has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It’s been a stressful time but thankfully he is back on his feet now and we are coming to terms with the management of the condition.
Alfie is having four blood tests a day and on top of that four injections of insulin. It doesn’t end there though – he is now on a diet which involves counting his carb/sugar intake.
Looking at Alfie today you wouldn’t have any idea as to how ill he was in recent …
