Parties

6 February 2009 No Comment

Whether your child is 1 or 21 to keep up your cool dad image you’ll need to party the superdad way…

Party, Party, Party !!

There are many types of party that you can have for your child. Maybe your son would like a swimming party; maybe your daughter would like to have a roller-skating party.

Perhaps you would like to limit the cost by having a home-based party; maybe your partner does not want any mess so a party elsewhere is the preference.

What are the options?
Here are a few of the things you could consider doing:

Food based

  • McDonalds
  • Pizza Hut
  • Chiquitos
  • Brewers Fayre
  • Frankie and Benny’s

Entertainment based

  • A Magician
  • A Clown
  • Cinema

The link below will take you to a directory of entertainers for your childs party:

Activity based

  • Swimming
  • Roller Skating
  • Ice skating
  • Bouncy Castles
  • Treasure hunt
  • Trip to the zoo
  • Safari park
  • Sealife centre
  • Alton Towers ( or other theme park )

To help you arrange your childs party we have provided two links below which should enable you to get things going:

Superdads guide to ensuring your childs party goes perfectly!!

  • Ensure that the venue is an ideal size for the amount of children attending whilst also considering its location and number of parking spaces available for parents.
  • If you’re having your child’s party at home don’t invite too many children. If you’re able to make use of your garden then you will have a little extra space but consider where everyone will fit if it rains.
  • Arrive at the party venue at least 30 minutes before your first guests are due to arrive. This will give you time to arrange furniture, lay tables, put up decorations and prepare food if necessary.
  • If fellow parents are helping you out at the party, agree who is foing what at the beginning.
  • The majority of children are more willing to join in with the fun and games when there are less adults about. With this in mind try and keep adult presence to a minimum but make sure there are enough adults to cope with the numbers of children.
  • Attach balloons to the walls rather than letting the children run around kicking and bursting them. Chasing around after balloons usually leads to at least one of the children falling down and injuring themselves. At the end of the party you can take them down and let the children take them home.
  • If you’re working to a budget joint parties can be twice as fun and half the cost.
  • Make a note of parent’s mobile numbers when they drop off their child so you can contact them in the event of an emergency.
  • Attaching a favourite character helium balloon to the birthday child’s chair and seating them in the middle of the table is a great way to make him or her feel special!
  • If you’re having a face painter supply them with a list of the children’s names so that the children can be called up individually. This will allow the children to continue watching the entertainment or playing games rather than queuing and missing out on all the fun.
  • Finally, remember that although the party is for the children there is no rule against you having a good time so “Enjoy Yourself”.

Something for the 18 to 21 year olds

Arranging a party for 18 to 21 year olds takes a lot of thought, firstly you need to order the beer, then you need to order more beer, then maybe it’s wise to order some extra beer, maybe you should also get some wine, then make a purchase of “alcopops” and finally…. a bottle of lemonade just for good measure.

This mixed with some decent music and they’ll be well away !!
