The sibling reaction…

15 October 2009 No Comment

My sister showed no signs of surprise at all when we told her she was to be an Aunt for the second time. In fact I was a little surprised by the reaction – A simple, “Well I expected it – congratulations” was the response. I know she’s over the moon for us but I suppose with there being two years between me and my sister, and she has a two year gap between her kids, she expected I would have a similar gap in between my kids too.

My wife’s brother was visibly excited at the prospect of becoming an uncle again. His excitement however was overshadowed by that of his partners. As soon as we said a baby was coming, tears filled her eyes, you could sense the emotion, it was a really touching moment.
